Senior Pastor: Russell C Senstad

Pastor Russell Senstad was born and raised in Minnesota. He graduated from Jefferson Senior High in Alexandria, where he also grew up on the family Campground & Marina. After high school, he went to college and graduated from Concordia University, St. Paul. While at C.S.P.U, he majored in Psychology and minored in History. Following college, he attended Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO. During his vicarage in Billings, MT, he met his wife, Angela. After graduating from Seminary, he and Angela were married and moved to Adair, IA, where he served Immanuel Lutheran church. In 1996, he was called to serve as Redeemer’s associate pastor. In February 2001, he was installed as the Senior pastor with the District President, and former Senior pastor of Redeemer, performing the installation. He and his wife have three children: Jacob, Elizabeth, and David. He enjoys many activities and interests, but the best one is spending time with his family.




Associate Pastor: David N Zirpel

Pastor David Zirpel was born and raised in Parkston, SD, where his dad Norbert still resides.  He married Pam on August 10, 1985, and they have two children:  Christina and Caleb and three grandchildren.  He has six brothers and sisters:  Charlotte (Gary), Mark (Lori), Marjo (Roger), Bruce (Kara), Troy, and Kayla, and 19 nieces and nephews.  After graduating from high school, he attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls with majors in English, German, Secondary Education and a minor in Greek studies.  He taught in SD for 3 ½ years before attending Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 1987.  He has served Immanuel and Zion Lutheran churches of Lincoln, MO (1991 – 1994), Concordia Lutheran Church of Bourbon, MO (1994-2002), and Redeemer since 2002.  In the past he has served as pastoral advisor of Lutherans for Life in the state of Missouri.  David enjoys time spent with his family and grandchildren.  Gardening, walking, playing pinochle with family and friends, and visiting are his hobbies.
